Dear Saints,
Greetings once again in the wonderful name of Jesus! Thank God it is getting cool again after a very hot summer.
Those who turn to the back page will quickly notice a big change. It concerns the TV broadcast ministry. There are seasons to many things in life and ministry and we have prayerfully come to the conclusion that the season, at least for us, of television ministry has come to a close.
Broadcast television is very expensive; fewer are watching; and there are more and more outlets for ministry available through various digital outlets via the internet. If anything, we are expanding the outreach, just in different ways.
We are very thankful for the Lord’s faithful presence in our midst. May God help us all to continue to seek for the active presence and leadership of the only rightful head of the church, our Lord Jesus! Anything short of that is just religion. And religion never saved anyone!
We have included several medium-sized articles in this issue. The first one is focused on Christ and the Church. It is a reprint of a chapter from the book, “What Does Deception Look Like?”
“Inside and Outside” explores several simple, but very important truths regarding salvation. We truly need that which is alive and real to transform us on the inside. True salvation makes us “new creatures” in Christ – on the inside. But that new life on the inside needs to be expressed on the “outside” as well.
“Where Am I?” sounds like a strange title! The article deals with the awesome finished work of Christ and the fact that He left the “old us” in that grave when He rose from the dead. When He rose He didn’t bring our past with Him! And He wants us to learn to live our lives free from all that is past, free to move forward, becoming all He died to make us. The devil works in all of God’s children through lies to weigh us down with what is past. May we learn to reject his lies and daily choose to believe in all that Christ has done!
The other article is a reprint of, “A Human Vehicle of the Divine Life,” by Major Ian Thomas. It certainly fits with the other articles to highlight all that Christ has accomplished on our behalf while encouraging us to learn more and more to walk in it, to treat what He has done as if it were true – because it is!
As always, the world is getting spiritually darker and darker as that day approaches. At the same time I believe the light is getting brighter and brighter for those with eyes to see. I’m glad Christ has promised to be with us to the very end!
