Some people’s Christ lived a long time ago
He died upon the cross for them that is all they know
Other people know that he is coming back some day
But few really know that he is in the world today
Jesus Christ is still the same as he was yesterday
And he’ll be just as wonderful tomorrow
So listen to his word, and let your heart be stirred,
Jesus Christ is in the world today
And he’s coming forth to set his people free
Christ is the way he’s the truth and the life
His presence in the heart can bring the ending of all strife
His power is still the same today to set the captive free
And those who come to god by him can have his victory
Jesus Christ is still the same as he was yesterday
And he’ll be just as wonderful tomorrow

Jesus Christ is in the world today

Let’s lift our voices in praise to our friend
His mercy’s everlasting and his love will never end
His presence goes before us as we journey on life’s way
