Editor's Letter

Dear Saints,

Greetings to all in the wonderful name of Jesus! Despite all we see that is wrong in the world He is still on the throne. Man makes great boasts but Christ’s will is the one that will prevail. Hallelujah!

The main article in this issue, “First Love,” is from a message preached almost a year ago, yet the Lord’s emphasis continues to focus on our inner lives and the need for a genuine living relationship.

Remember what the Lord told Samuel the prophet when he went to the house of Jesse to anoint a king to replace Saul. Samuel was impressed with the appearance of Jesse’s older son but the Lord said, “Do not consider his appearance or his height, for I have rejected him. The Lord does not look at the things people look at. People look at the outward appearance, but the Lord looks at the heart.”

How easy is it for us equate serving God with what we believe in our heads and the religious activities we faithfully carry out and to miss what is most important to Him: a heart relationship in which we are transformed from the inside out. The Ephesian church of Revelation had it all — except what mattered most!

I hope many of you, at least in the US, were able to see the new movie, “War Room.” What a powerful and uncompromising portrayal of real spiritual warfare! I hope you will all see it, at least when it comes out later on DVD. The Lord is reaching out to awaken His own.

In light of the movie it is surely appropriate to include a wonderful article by Andrew Murray on prayer. Truly, what powers the kingdom of God is not education, talent, zeal, organization, doing the “right things,” etc., but prayer that is energized from heaven itself.

Don’t forget to pray for our November meeting which is coming up soon. This year we will be here in Southern Pines. Plan to join us as the Lord enables.

Till next time may God’s rich blessings be yours.

Your brother in Christ,
Phil Enlow
