Editor's Letter

Dear Saints,

Greetings to all in the wonderful name of Jesus!

Our June Convention has come and gone and we are rejoicing in God’s goodness. This year’s convention was held here in Southern Pines, North Carolina for the first time in many years. Folks gathered from several states with an air of anticipation and the Lord didn’t disappoint us.

I believe it would be safe to say that there was a greater spirit of unity then I ever recall right from the beginning. That fact brings to mind the wonderful promise of Psalm 133 concerning the place where brothers live together in unity, that it is there that God “bestows his blessing, even life forevermore.”

One thing I believe we all took away was the Lord sharing His heart and vision for His Church in this last hour. Christ has purposed to present her (the church) to himself as “a radiant church, without stain or wrinkle or any other blemish, but holy and blameless.” Eph. 5:27. We have our part to play but only Christ can bring such a thing about. May our eyes and hearts remain fixed on him.

In this issue we pick up the series on recognizing deception with part 6 which deals briefly with Satan’s efforts to undermine God’s vision for the Church in the earth. May we be given eyes to see beyond the confines of religion as we have come to know it and to sense God’s heart in this matter.

We are also reprinting a couple of articles by Bro. Thomas. One is the ever-relevant article entitled, “Your Adversary.” Surely this truth is needed as never before. The other is “The Great Falling Away” which relates things that we see everywhere in our world with what God warned us about in His Word.

Recently I was going through some old papers and ran across a tract published by my brother-in-law, Tim Decker, about 20 years ago. It is a wonderful and clear look at the compromised gospel that, as Tim puts it, “will damn the very sinners it promises to save and will corrupt the church it hopes to build.” Amen!

There is also another short excerpt from the writings of Andrew Murray we have entitled, “Deliverance from Prayerlessness.” It contains wonderful truth that not only relates to prayer but to every aspect of the Christian life, namely that God hasn’t called us to carry out religious duties but rather to let Christ live in us. He has all the strength and virtue we lack!

In late July we are anticipating our “Kids Camp” here in Southern Pines. While these events are always a time of fun our prayer is that there will be eternal spiritual results in all of those attending.

Please remember us in your prayers as we likewise pray for you.

Your brother in Christ,
Phil Enlow
