Encouraging Words

Heb. 10:25 “... let us encourage one another — and all the more as you see the Day approaching.”

Forgiveness

by Steve Johnson

When bitterness bloomed
From evil done to me,
The same poisoned fruit
Grew strong on my tree.
An eye for an eye
A tooth for a tooth,
Even the devil can speak
That kind of truth.

Vengeance is tasty
It quickly beguiles,
Others are hurt
And many defiled.

Call forth the axeman
Hew this tree down,
Put an end to its fruit
And pull its roots from the ground.

Let forgiveness be planted
Let healing begin,
Love poured from the heart
Covers a multitude of sins.

Words from The Master
Were left here for me,
To love your enemy
Is to set yourself free.
