Transcript of message from TV Broadcast 1151 -- taken from Closed Captioning Text

— Brother Phil Enlow: We serve somebody who is on the highest throne in the universe. Jesus has been given…He won it at the cross. He earned it! By what He did for us, what He was willing to do…God testified to His acceptance of what Jesus did for you and for me when He raised Him from the dead.

He said, I want everybody to know that’s the answer to your need! Judgment is coming but there’s a door of hope! Jesus is alive! And He’s not only alive and walking around, He went back to glory on a cloud, and all authority in heaven and earth is in His hands. The stuff that we’re seeing unfold in this world is not out of His control. If, when God takes His hand off…it doesn’t mean He’s lost control, it simply means He is allowing men to have what they want for a time. But that does not mean that there’s not gonna come a day when God says, enough!

And the model we have is the one that Peter referred to. You go back to the days of Noah. Noah for…the word there tells us that men’s imagination of their heart reached a point where, “…Every imagination of the thoughts of his heart was only evil continually.” (KJV). There was not a good thought in there. There was not one iota of faith in God, desire to serve Him, desire to please Him, concerned about…I’m gonna have to face Him, I need to reckon on God and the reality of who He is. Gone! Total darkness! Total blindness!

God allowed Noah to preach for 120 years, or something like that. There was a period of time that was pretty significant. And he preached and he warned and he built, and a total of seven people listened. They were his family. Can you imagine what happened when the Lord shut them in and the rain started falling? Can you imagine the panic? How would you feel?

I don’t know how long that judgment took. I mean, we know how long the flood took and all that, but in terms of people experiencing the terror of that judgment, it could have been weeks, in some cases. People fleeing to high ground, trying to ride it out, trying to hope, trying to build a raft, trying to do something. At that point, there was no hope.

That day is gonna land on this world. And if people who have said, no, and rebelled against the Gospel, they refused to obey the Gospel of Jesus Christ, ‘cause that’s what God demands. It’s not a, “pretty-please will you accept My plan?” This is repent or perish. Turn from your sins. They’re gonna destroy you. I’m gonna do away with evil once and for all. There will be none in My Kingdom. Oh, my!

I don’t even know where to go with this, but this is a sober message and it needs to be preached without compromise! People need to be looked at in the eye and told you will perish if you do not fall on your knees and bow before Jesus Christ as Lord. There’s no compromise in this. God help us to have a renewed soberness.

( congregational amens ).

Realize what life is about! Yeah, we got to live, we got to work, we got to do the things…the ordinary activities of life, but the overriding concern should be we are Redemption Day Preppers. We see what’s going on. In that context we need to lift up our heads and say, He’s coming soon! He’s got a reason why you and I are here at this time, at this place! God has a purpose that He’s working out in the earth.

We sang a song we haven’t sung in a while this morning. “Christ’s church in order, God’s plan for the hour.” We used to sing that a lot. God has got a purpose that He’s going to fulfill in the earth. And He has called His people to lift up their hearts and to seek Him and to allow Him to do in them what needs to be done to realize that in this last hour, in the middle of this darkness, God has a harvest!

You see it in the ministry of Jesus. Look at, what is it? John chapter 4 is one example…when Jesus meets the woman at the well. But then at the end of it, the disciples are wondering what in the world is going on here. And Jesus said, in verse 32, “I have food to eat that you know nothing about. Then his disciples said to each other, Could someone have brought him food?” (NIV). That’s what they’d gone to buy.

“My food, said Jesus, is to do the will of him who sent me and to finish his work. Do you not say, Four months more and then the harvest? I tell you, open your eyes and look at the fields! They are ripe for harvest. Even now the reaper draws his wages, even now he harvests the crop for eternal life…” There’s another occasion where He said, “…Pray ye therefore the Lord…he would send forth labourers into his harvest.” (KJV).

One of the truths that comes out of the Word of God is that the time of the end is not just a time for a hunkering down and circling the wagons, hiding in a cave and waiting for Jesus to come. There is a harvest. It is a harvest time! Can you imagine if things do in fact get really bad, in a visible, tangible way, our society begins to break down, do you think there just might be some people that God uses that to awaken them?

( congregation inaudible ).

Yeah. God is gonna…we’re gonna have to have a message that’s positive. We’re gonna have to have a message of hope in the midst of some tremendous darkness that is coming. And we’re gonna have to have a heart that just trusts in God to the point where we’re willing to stand in that darkness.

Look what the disciples were facing. They were in the same type of situation with respect to the nation of Israel. Countdown to judgment! It’s coming! So what do we do? You go out and you do God’s work. You preach. Yeah, you’re gonna be killed. You’re gonna be persecuted. I’m gonna arrange for you to be arrested, and the reason I’m gonna do it is I want you to stand before people, and look them in the eye and give them my word.

God is gonna have a people in this hour that are alive and awake. I can see a time, I don’t know, somehow by faith I can see God tearing down walls. We have spent generations, a couple thousand years, I guess, the Devil has successfully built walls between believers.

And I’m not talking about ecumenism, men trying to engineer, bringing religion together. God hates that. God’s not interested in uniting religion. But I’ll tell you, there is a people for whom Christ died. There are people who know Him in spite of where they’re at. And each group tends to have their little ‘pet’ revelation. This is what we stand for, this is what defines our little group, and my God, we’re gonna build walls against anybody who doesn’t believe like we do! God, help us to be bridge builders not wall builders.

( congregational amens ).

Jesus…how does He feel when He looks down? And He sees the Pentecostals railing against the Baptist, the Baptist against the Pentecostals, and any other group you can name. You don’t see it like we do. And there are people who know Him in places that would shock us and surprise us. God give us a heart to see beyond our walls and to see as Christ sees what He’s gonna do at the end of the age. I believe His heart is longing to bring together His people!

How many times did He show us, in vision years ago, the little rays of light going out and connecting bodies of light and bringing them together? And before He comes there was that vision of…I know this is a lot of symbolism, but there was that vision of a man of light rising from the earth and standing tall in one. And then do you remember what happened then? That man of light rose from the earth and fire came down. I’ll tell you, we’ve got Somebody who is able to finish what He has started.

( congregational amens ).

We’ve got Somebody who can finish the work. But I’ll tell you, I want to be awake and alive and act…you know, we talked about some of the broadcast opportunities we have. I don’t know what the Lord has for us to do, but we need to be aware that we’re not here just to live and make a living and mark time. We’re here to reach out with the Word of God. We have our piece, we have our job. God’s got other people with their jobs. He knows how to put it all together. He knows the plan.

Oh, there’s a vision that all Heaven is watching for! That day when everything comes together under the headship of Jesus Christ! All of His Kingdom comes together! And it’s put on display and He says, this is what it’s been about. It’s not about your life here. It’s about a Kingdom that’s gonna last forever!

Man I want to be a Redemption Day Prepper. I want to say, Lord, change me. Don’t change everybody else so they’ll stop annoying me. Take away my excuses, Lord. Help me. Help me to trust You, to believe You. Take away my prejudices, Lord. Take away all the things that I think I know. Help me to come to a place where I don’t know anything as I ought to know it, but I know You’re real. I know You’re on a throne. I know You can give the wisdom that I need. Lord, I want to be a Redemption Day Prepper.

And of course, one thing the Lord has made so plain over the years is that’s not just an individualistic thing. You don’t go off in a cave and say, all right, Lord, I’m preparing. God is gonna build His people together. The glue that holds His kingdom together is the love of God that is allowed to possess us and flow out one to another. And God is going to do whatever it takes to break down the things that hinder that. I don’t know, do you sense what I’m sensing at all?

( congregational response ).

What is your life about? What is it that defines your life? You know, you think about these Doomsday Preppers. Man, it’s all they think about. They do enough work to get by, and then they spend hours a day packaging up food, storing it in their secret stash, practicing with their guns, practicing their ‘bug-out.’

Like, we just got word, let’s see how long it takes us to get to our escape vehicle, and get to our secret location. I mean, over and over again that’s…the attention is on that all the time. They’re thinking about it. And here we are… and they’re doing it for something they don’t ‘know’ is gonna happen. They just think it might.

We ‘know’ this is coming. We don’t know when. Will it come in my lifetime? I don’t know. Does it matter? Yeah, that’s the message. Every time Jesus talked about His coming, there was one message! Be ready!

You know, some of the saddest cases that He warned about…one of them was, He’d given His servants stuff to do, and one of the servants said, you know, He’s not…He’s delaying His coming. I thought He was coming sooner than this. Here I was all busy because I was expecting Him to come. He’s not coming yet. Well, I guess I got time. So he begins to go off and get drunk, and eat, and mess around with the world, and you could see what was in his heart, really…can’t you?

That’s what it’s about. If the Lord delays His coming, it’s to see…one of the things is to see what’s in people’s hearts. There are a lot of people, you could shake them up and scare them into church. But I’ll tell you, you better have something on the inside. You better have a miracle of God performed in your heart. You better be born again, and alive and awake if you’re gonna stand in this hour.

And that’s the other thing. I mean, “Midnight Cry Ministries,” where does that come from? It comes from Matthew 25. You’ve got two kinds of people, to all intents and purposes, both kinds look like Redemption Day Preppers! They’re all together! He calls them all virgins. That was a symbol…these were ones that were waiting for the Bridegroom. They all went to sleep.

But one day the voice came. He’s coming. Get up, get ready. And half of them found out they couldn’t get ready. They didn’t have what they needed. Oh, God. Examine yourselves. This is not about being religious. This is about coming to Him. I mean, there is not a thing you and I can do to make ourselves fit for His Kingdom. There’s not one thing, except to obey the Gospel which says, repent, put your trust in Him, open your heart to His Spirit, let Him change you, let Him have His way. That’s what it means. But that’s right now! ‘Cause this isn’t some magic thing…

( snapping fingers ).

…Where all of a sudden we’re gonna wake up and boom, we’re gonna be like Christ. This is happening day, by day, by day right now. God is looking to change you and to change me. So, I’ve got something to do when I get up in the morning. Do you? Look to Him. Be a Redemption Day Prepper.

( congregational amens ).

Oh, He’s coming. I mean, this is pretty much enough, but I think I’m gonna go back to 2nd Peter 3, because this kind of fills it out. ‘Cause he’s just warned about the fact that this, “…Present heavens and earth are reserved for fire, being kept for the day of judgment and destruction of ungodly men.” (NIV).

But Peter goes on and says, “But do not forget this one thing, dear friends: With the Lord a day is like a thousand years, and a thousand years are like a day.” He’s not bound by time. He has got a perfect schedule and that schedule is geared to getting everyone that has put their trust in Christ to be ready for that day! He’s not gonna lose one who has truly put their trust in Him. This is not about being strong. This is about being surrendered, and believing in Him.

“The Lord is not slow in keeping his promise, as some understand slowness. He is patient with you, not wanting anyone to perish, but everyone to come to repentance. But the day of the Lord will come like a thief. The heavens will disappear with a roar…” I wonder what they’re gonna do with their cosmos then. “…The elements will be destroyed by fire, and the earth and everything in it will be laid bare. Since everything will be destroyed in this way, what kind of people ought you to be?”

See, there ain’t no ‘maybe’ about this prepping. This is sure. “You ought to live holy and godly lives as you look forward to the day of God and speed its coming. That day will bring about the destruction of the heavens by fire, and the elements will melt in the heat.” Elements! Oh, these scientists can talk in rapturous terms about all the elements, and how they…you know, you go back to the ‘Big Bang’ and this happened, and then the stars did all this, and they generated the elements that now are us. We’re just star dust. You know, like…anyway…praise God!

But God’s gonna take all that apart! There won’t be any atoms left. “…The elements will melt in the heat. But in keeping with his promise…” Now, let’s think about who this is. Does He lie?

( congregational response ).

No. When He promises something, you can bank on that.

( congregational response ).

It’s impossible for God to lie. “…In keeping with his promise we are looking forward to a new heaven and a new earth, the home of righteousness. So then, dear friends, since you are looking forward to this, make every effort to be found spotless, blameless and at peace with him. Bear in mind that our Lord’s patience means salvation, just as our dear brother Paul also wrote you with the wisdom that God gave him.”

There’s a unified message in the Word of God. It’s not…we need to look at these things with a soberness, with a realism, but God is not wanting His people to look down, and be dismayed, and be afraid when they see the things that are coming on the earth. He wants us to lift up our heads, know who it is that we serve, and be alive, and awake, and listening, and cooperating, and doing whatever it is that we have to do in His Kingdom while there’s time.

And we know that God is going to finish the job. Christ is going to finish the job that His Father gave Him. And I’ll tell you, we’re gonna stand there on that day. But if somebody hears this, and you’re not sure, and you don’t know Him, oh, my God! You can put up all the food you want to, but it’s not gonna mean a thing when He comes. There is nothing in this world that matters more than which side you’re on when that day comes. Are you in the ark or out of the ark? That’s it.

When God comes knocking on your heart’s door you better say, yes! Thank you for Your mercy, because without You I could not do this! There’s nothing I can do but just cast myself upon Your mercy and Your promise. You’re the only one that can rescue me from the destruction that’s coming upon this planet. That’s what it’s about.

That’s what the Gospel is about. It’s about rescue of helpless, unworthy sinners from certain judgment! That’s what it is. And we don’t need to soft-pedal it. We don’t need to be hellfire and brimstone preachers either, necessarily. Although the Lord does say, save some with fear, doesn’t He?

( congregational response ).

There’s a place for that. Some people are saved and they just fall in love with Jesus because of the message of love. Other people need to be scared…need to understand this is not a God to toy with. This is real. Judgment is coming, and it’s righteous! And I’ll tell you, we’re gonna stand before His throne one day, and we’re gonna look back and we’re gonna see the justice and the mercy and the love of God, and we’ll get such a clarity of picture that we’ll just say, praise God! You’ve done right.

( congregational amens ).

If God let one atom of sin into His new universe, it would spoil it. God cannot be pure and good and tolerate one atom of sin. Thank God for His power to eradicate it from us. It’s not like He’s looking to our resources. I mean, you look at what Peter said there in chapter 3.

But you’ve got to see that in the context of what he said in the beginning of the book, where, by His precious promises, He’s given us everything we need to be partakers of life and godliness. So, He’s not throwing a big burden on you and me to try to measure up. He’s saying, look, I’ve provided everything but you jolly-well better believe it and give yourself to it. “…Make your calling and election sure: for if ye do these things, ye shall never fall.” (KJV). Praise God! That’s an awesome hope, isn’t it? So, I want to be one that lifts up my head and be a Redemption Day Prepper. How about you?

( congregational amens ).

Praise God!
